One Central New York County is taking steps to pass a local law that would ban the use of single-use plastic bags. Madison County would be the first county in upstate New York to take this measure, officials there say.
People who use plastic bags find them convenient and durable, and can be recycled.
Others against the use of these plastic bags at supermarkets, convenience stores,, pharmacies and take-out restaurants say they clog waterways, litter the highways and take years to degrade in landfills. Full post here
