Its not even Halloween and we in Oswego County are getting Tricked, not Treated.Our County Clerk, George Williams, is making a big deal out of the License Plate Petition drive, but wait he is also the County Republican Chairman. Could he have another reason to sponsor a petition drive like this?
ALBANY -- County clerks across the state have started online petitions against planned increases in fees on licenses plates next year.
The push has been orchestrated by Senate Republicans, particularly Sen. Thomas Libous, R-Binghamton, who are seeking to regain control of the chamber next year. Democrats hold a narrow 32-30 seat majority heading into the 2010 elections. from the Pressconnects.com
Now "political" County Clerks are using County resources, web sites and staff to run this clearly POLITICAL operation using taxpayers dollars. Is it legal?? NO. Use of public money for political use is illegal!
