An Interesting Call .. Well Almost.

As one would except we here at http://oswegodemocrat.blogspot.com/ know many teachers. As the Democratic Party, we see eye to eye with many Unions and have supported them strongly here and in the nation. But sometimes their willingness to support Republican candidates leaves us somewhat confused.

As Harry Truman said in the 1948 campaign, "If the unions don't vote Democrat their damn ungrateful." Of course he was referring the to Democratic Party's support of union rights and the Republican Party's fight against those rights.

Last evening I got several calls and emails from teacher friends of mine. Here is one:

"Bill just got a call from benchmark polling (Albany NY) NYSUT, wanting to know who XXXXX was voting for." She said "Bill Owens". They then hung up. Time 8:00pm Monday night. For your information. XXXX.

I read several days ago that NYSUT endorsed the Republican candidate for congress. What my friends tell me is that they are voting for the Democratic candidate, Bill Owens.

Now I wonder if this is their new campaign strategy....making thier members mad with hang up calls?
